The Redmi 12 was initially launched in select global markets in June and is scheduled to debut in India on August 1. Redmi 12 will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. As for the pricing and availability in India, the base 4GB + 128GB variant of the Redmi 12 is priced at approximately EUR 199 (roughly Rs. 17,000) in some European markets and THB 5,299 (roughly Rs. 12,500) in Thailand for the 8GB + 128GB option. The phone will be available for purchase through Amazon and Flipkart in India, and the pricing is expected to be similar to its global counterpart.
If the global variant's specifications are the same for India, the Redmi 12 will feature a 6.79-inch Full HD+ (1,080 x 2,460 pixels) display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. It will run on Android 13-based MIUI 14 out-of-the-box and be powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of eMMC 5.1 inbuilt storage.
The phone will come with a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor for macro photography. For selfies, there will be an 8-megapixel front camera. The device will be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W wired fast charging.
